Though you may not like that this school was founded by Turkish Graduate Students, the School Board President is an American Citizen, Tekin Tuncer is an American citizen. This school teaches students at higher levels than WCSD and has a much better educational program. They do more with less $$ than all other WCSD schools with better results. So do we start a blog about the parochial schools that actually teach Catholicism? This school does not teach religion. As a matter of fact, this school actually teaches our students, starts the day off with The Pledge of Allegiance, plays the Star Spangled Banner, and talks about all religions and teaches the Constitution of the US! How many other schools showed the Towers Falling on 9/11 to their students this year for the commemoration of the 10th anniversary of that event? Coral Reno did just that and spent a great deal of time and effort for the 5th-12th grade students to understand what happened that day. Not another school in our area showed the towers falling. Nothing wrong with keeping an eye on those that might be a problem, but Coral Reno is not a problem!
Dear Readers,
Notice how PJ's comment totally avoids any mention of the Gulen movement? Instead, he/she defends the school by listing activities which I advise you to interpret as the classic Gulenist efforts at political cover.
This same impetus is evident in the way in which the Gulen schools and other organizations intensely lobby for the attention of our public officials so they can prominently feature that contact on their websites. Most public officials don't have any inkling that something called the Gulen movement even exists, and certainly have no idea of its M.O.
Efforts of this sort can be seen being used time and time again. Simply put, they are propaganda techniques.
Also, American citizenship does not preclude a person from being a member of "hizmet" (what Gulen movement members call themselves).
Most of the individuals listed above have been found to be involved with the Sierra Foundation, a Gulenist organization in Nevada. Nearly every state has at least one similar organization. In addition to their charter schools, these organizations are yet another expression of the Gulen movement's effort to advance their self-righteous cause.
This page provides evidence of the school's Gulen movement affiliation.

PS: It is important to know that members of this religious group are not at liberty to discuss their involvement with outsiders in a frank and open way. So do not expect that to happen...ever.
Thank you for listing these schools. I just learned that Nevada has dropped to the very bottom of all states in America. Not sure if these schools are included in the ranking, but could they go any lower? Apparently, the answer is yes.
Watch the movie called KILLING ED very educational
