Paramount School of Excellence

INDIANAPOLIS -- The co-founder of an Indianapolis charter school is facing new allegations he defrauded schools and small business owners out of thousands of dollars. 6News' Kara Kenney reported Monday that Dimitri Snowden, the co-founder of the Indianapolis-based Paramount School of Excellence, was named in a lawsuit brought by the KIPP Academy, another Indianapolis charter school, which is sponsored by Mayor Greg Ballard and funded by public tax dollars. [More about KIPP Indianapolis HERE]

The school accuses Snowden and his information technology company, Ion360, of breach of contract, fraud and deception totaling $45,796 in damages.

The Paramount School of Excellence also contracted with Snowden's company, but fired him and is now seeking legal action…

Tom Wagenhauser with Indy IT Professionals said small-business owners should always ask for references, certifications and accreditations before doing business with a Web company…

Ion360 is listed as a member of the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce. The chamber refused to comment on Snowden's membership due to the ongoing lawsuit.

According to the lawsuit brought by KIPP, Ion360 pressured the school to purchase products and services it did not need and could not afford and failed to provide the promised "responsive service and rapid resolution" to technology issues and problems.

It's unclear whether KIPP Charter Academy investigated Snowden prior to hiring him…

Amazing to me that this "Scandal" has been made public, but the information about the CEO (Reddicks) of the school is just now coming to light about the allegations of sexual abuse with his minor child years ago. Can you say “Snow job”? I believe that the school got rid of the wrong guy to say the least!

Not to mention the lack of financial transperency as well as the conflict of interest reguarding board members and Reddicks relationship.

There are many great reasons for a scandal site. The primary one is to offer an outlet to those who feel they are not being heard. The allegations about Reddicks and abuse were refuted in a court of law as well as in the social services division. Anyone who perpetuates continued angst against him is just trying to stir up mud and create a smear campaign. That kind of behavior hurts all of us, even those of us who don't like Charter Schools.

Even if the accusations are false, these requests should be automatic for any charter school.

Apparently Reddicks has more than one allegation. One was refuted in 2003, the 2000 case was not, but has been stricken from his record. He was also fired from Holy Rosary Church in Seattle for accusations of molestation.

As one that has read documents and many of those that have not been placed out there for all to see it appeared that the allegations were not refuted in a court of law as the above post mentioned. It also appears that could be multiple allegations against Reddicks. As it stands Cat Nevins, school board president did not launch a full investigation rather a witch hunt and disbandment of the parent organization of the school to take the heat off of Reddicks and the child abuse allegations.

As someone who has personal knowledge of the sexual abuse allegations, they were completely fabricated by a bitter now ex wife trying to keep him from seeing his own child. The Seattle school jumped to conclusions and fired him unjustly (the priest in charge at the time was himself exposed in a sex scandal and forced out). A sad tale indeed, with years of emotional scars left in its wake. But I know Mr. Reddicks to be a fine man, a great administrator and anyone asking or who has reservations should find out the real story. I didn't buy the false accusations at the time and supported he and his family throughout the whole ordeal. For the record, his musical talent at our school was groundbreaking and infectious, and all of the kids AND parents loved him and the work that he was doing. Just trying to give another perspective here. He was and remains one of my (and my family's) dearest friends.
